How to copy your Dive Organizer database from one PC to another

Suggested method (if you can still access Dive Organizer on your old PC)
On the old PC
- Login to Dive Organizer.
- Select Database | Backup and store the DBF file on an external storage device (e.g. a USB pendrive).
On the new PC
- Install and login to Dive Organizer.
- Select the DBF file from the external storage device and choose the Database | Restore menu option in Dive Organizer.
- Restart Dive Organizer: you will be prompted for the same login details as used on the source PC.
Manual method (if you cannot start Dive Organizer on your old PC)
On the old PC
- Look for DiveOrganizer.sdf among your files (it may be hidden).
or
- Type %allusersprofile% in to the Windows Explorer address bar, then select the DiveOrganizer folder. Look for DiveOrganizer.sdf.
- Copy that file onto a USB stick.
On the new PC
- Insert the USB stick.
- Start Dive Organizer.
- Go to Database | Open folder.
- Close Dive Organizer (without closing the newly opened folder at step above).
- In the newly opened folder, rename DiveOrganizer.sdf to DiveOrganizer.bak.
- Copy and paste the DiveOrganizer.sdf file from the stick to the folder.
- Restart Dive Organizer.
NOTE. To change the password or secret question/answer phrases go to:
- Database | Logout.
- Select your username from the combo.
- Select Password management and follow the wizard.
